One Day Safari to Lake Manyara National Park

Your Safari leaves at 8:00 AM from the pick up point in Arusha and we will have a 1 1/2 hour drive to the park gates.

 

Lake Manyara National Park was declared part of a world Biosphere Reserve in 1981. It has copious ground water springs at one end, spilling out from the base of the rift valley walls which gives rise to a truly jungle type of ground water forest. This is in stark contrast to the dry bush acacia woodlands all around and to the enormous shallow alkaline lake that lies on the valley floor.

 

Manyara is also famous for its tree climbing lions and the largest troops of baboons in Africa. It is also a home to elephants, buffalo, hippo, lion, leopard, cheetah, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest and other creatures that take advantage of a well-watered environment.

 

With a short walk out you will visit a natural hot spring that offers opportunities for viewing water birds and hippos enjoying mud baths.

 

This is a wonderful spot where we will rest for lunch and after lunch we will proceed with the game drive and leave the park in the late afternoon.
