Private, Full Day Game Drive to Hadzabe & Datoga People Around Lake Eyasi
Your Safari leaves at 8:00 AM from the pick up point in Arusha, where we will drive through Ngorongoro Highlands to Lake Eyasi and visit Hadzabe encampments and learn about their daily way of life and traditions.
The Hadzabe are an indigenous ethnic group in north-central Tanzania living around lake Eyasi in the central Rift Valley and in the neighboring Serengeti Plateau.
The Hadza People are among one of the last surviving hunter/gatherer tribes in the world. While there, you will have an opportunity to hunt with the men, practice your bow and arrow skills and also walk with the women as they gather wild plant foods and purchase crafts made by the families.
After a picnic lunch, you will visit the neighbors of the Hadzabe Community, the Datoga, another cultural group in Tanzania who practice the ancient art of blacksmithing. Watch as the men smelt metal and form it into arrow heads, utensils and jewelry using age old techniques.
We will also visit their homes where the women will talk about their way of life.
In the late afternoon we will track our road back to Arusha.
